GOT IT!

Had to edit the blog. I put the wrong book title on yesterday...Brent was like "why'd you put the old book on there," and I was like, "what are you talking about?" he said, you'd better change that TWITARD...before everyone thinks you're a poser!"  anyway, sorry. i'm currently reading...so far sooooo good.

Okay, so the big moment is about to arrive and I have to tell you that I'm nearly peeing my pants! I reserved my copy of "Breaking Dawn" at Borders about a week ago and plan to pick it up tonight at midnight.  I'm trying desperately to get Brent to come along
with me to the "Twi-Hard" party that they're throwing. He says he loves seeing me so "geeked-up" over something (obviously because he's used to seeing me so completely cool right;) Anyway, "nerd herd" or not-- I can't wait!!!  ahhhh...it's been far too long without Edward in my dreams. lol.

I hate swimsuits!

Okay, so I've put this blog off for as long as i could, but as i was emailing a friend today about my bathing suit shopping experience this year i just got too worked up, and can not hold it in any longer. OMG what is it with bathing suits!!! Obviously after having a baby recently my body isn't where i want it to be (even close for that matter) especially right smack in the middle of summer and bathing suit season, but i mean common, could there be a bathing suit out there that fits right (ugh)!  I decided to go with Land's End this year (and chose a ditty something like the one in the far left of the pic.) i ordered a couple from the website and then went to Sears and basically bought everyone they had, hoping that when i got home i could mix and match one half decent suit. so..after FINALLY finding a good combination I realized that even with boobs full of milk i still have no chance of filling the extraordinarily huge cups (in a size 8 for crying out loud) so i am currently in the process of having to alter a $80 dollar bathing suit. i mean common, shouldn't there be more options out there. To top  it off the only thing Brent could think to say about it was "it looks good i guess, kinda womanly." Great, just what i was going for..."womanly." so...this is what i realized after my bathing suit shopping experience this year.

First of all, the Miraclesuit: it isn't! nobody is fooled here bathing suit making people. Any suit that is two sizes too small will reduce one's waistline by an inch or two, of course then you just have the added pleasure of fatter looking legs due to the fact that the fat that was around your waist, is now being squeezed down (tightly) to your legs, forcing it to bulge over the elastic. And why do they always come in hideous color combos, namely black or black with something? Do designers think that because a woman feels she needs a bit of squeezing that she's also in mourning?

Second: the tankini: why is it that these all look the same and fit completely different? Why do most of them have the high bottom if there's also a long top to pull down, creating layers of stretchy fabric around the middle (which is cute until you actually get in WATER...then you just look like you have a garbage bag on). And hello...my dilemma this year...why do many of the bottoms have a seam sewn right down the middle of the butt (Land's End, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren)? Do designers think that just because it's mostly soccer moms wearing tankinis that we don't care if it looks like we have a butt crack on the outside of our bottoms?

Third: the bikini:  What is the point of labeling these things small, medium and large, when they are really small, smaller, and smallest? i mean seriously...the only people wearing the majority of the bikinis out there today are the prepubescent girls working at American Eagle and Gap that are selling them. Oh and don't even get me started on the fact that they are now selling "string" bikini's for my 3 year old, complete with triangle patches over the chest. Oh my.

Fourth: Why don't manufacturers get it together an all do a mix and match? What woman is always an "8" in bathing suits for the top and bottom? Most people who are small on top are larger on bottom, and those who are heftier around the top and middle, tend to be a little lighter in the butt. That's the way God planned it: almost nobody gets in both ways. If you do, see Miraclesuit.  On second thought, don't!

Fifth: what is with the colors and patterns this year? Is it 1980? If i see one more flower-power neon suit i think i'll scream. And what's with the boy-cut 1960's bottom? face it, unless your a size 0 you ain't lookin' good in em'.

Well I could go on all day, but i think you get the picture... does anyone else feel this way?

Happy Anniversary!

I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.

The day we met I knew you were the one, and everyday since I've been reminded why. I love you Brent; your kiss still manages to make my heart skip a beat. Happy 7th Anniversary!

Happy Birthday G-Funk!

Happy Birthday Grandma, I'm glad that we got to spend your special day with you (even if we were just being lazy in the sun:) You know, as i was looking through pictures to post, I realized that there aren't too many memories that you aren't apart of...and i think that's just pretty cool. We love you.

Totally a hick at heart!

Okay so there's three "hick" things that everyone needs to go to at least once in there life... a rodeo, a demolition derby and a tractor/truck pull.  I PROMISE you won't be disappointed! This weekend my family all went to a local tractor pull and can i just tell you that I was absolutely in Heaven.  As silly as it sounds there's just something about down-home people getting togther, eating funnel cakes, and screaming for tractors that just makes my heart happy (just like it did as a kid). I added some pics of the tractors so you can get an idea what they look like. As you can see they're not exactly your grandpa's tractor; they're fast, mean, loud and have enough horsepower to pull a planet. They also cost on average between one and two hundred thousand dollars! I was a little worried about taking Brody because of the noise but as you can see we made due and he handled it like a trooper. Guess it just goes to prove "that you can take the girl outta the country, but you can't take the country outta the girl."

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well mom, I could go and on and on (which I know you would totally love) but I think I can pretty much sum it up in just a few sentences. So here goes...Mom i think you're the best. You're the reason I'm who I am. Your the phone call I look forward to each evening at 8:30. you're the person I cry to, because I know that even when know one else cares or agrees with me, you always will. You're my rock and my best friend. Oh...and you always have M&M's in your purse.  I love ya. Happy Birthday.

These are just a few pics that we took this weekend. Justin and Michelle are in from Las Vegas so we spent the weekend celebrating mom's birthday and hanging out with them.  the two pics of Maddie waving a straw at my dad's head are her "putting an abracadabra spell on him" that he will grow some hair on his bald spot. She gets very seriously distressed over it, and has even offered to give him some of her "very 'wong' hair." The other's are just some random pics of us enjoying a lazy Sunday in the woods cooking-out.

Who says CHUBBY boys ain't got game!

Brody totally rolled over for the first time today...(either that or his head is just too big and caused him to topple over after his mean mama forced him to stay on his belly too long:)
Yippee Hooray for the Brod-man; our little guy is just growing so fast we can hardly stand it. *If you want to hear the "proud-mama narration" don't forget to pause my music.

Happy Birthday Maddie!

Here are some pics of Maddie's 3rd Birthday celebration!  We were suppose to have a poolside Luau, but due to the pouring and relentless rain it turned into a weird Hawaiian party in the basement of my parent's home. I was of course devastated, but Maddie didn't know the difference and had a wonderful time. As you can imagine she loved being the center of attention for the day, so much so, that she yelled and stomped in protest when we started to take down streamers late that night saying "hey, quit taking down my birthday party." She's truly an amazing little girl, just so full of life and energy. I watched her all evening; swimming in the rain, sneaking icing off cupcakes, laughing hysterically, dancing wildly in her grass skirt, and realized....  I'm simply the luckiest mom in the world.
