yard love

 When I was little my grandparents had a huge weeping willow in their yard. All summer long we played around it, climbed up it, and ran under it's swaying branches. Now I get to watch my kids do the same. Brody calls it "his tickle tree," Maddie calls it "Grandmother willow" (from Pocahantas of course), and I'm pretty much just callin' it "heaven".  Full circle moments.... it's what Ive always dreamed of.  Man, do I love these end of summer evenings.  Makes my heart so happy. 

  

 

Preschool, day 1.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a sweeter, smarter, more loving little boy that my B-man. Everyone should have at least one like him; unmatched and irreplaceable. I wake up every morning to his smiling face around 7:00am. He comes into my room, stands by my bed, and stares at me with a sleepy smile until I startle wake up. He then hugs me and reports that "he's gonna go get ready for the day." Then he goes about his business. When I see him next, he's dressed, washed, brushed and ready for action (PJ's nicely folded in the drawer... sink wiped out). That's just the way he rolls.  Someday he'll be successful at whatever he puts his mind to... for now he's successful at making me the happiest mommy in the world. Happy first day of preschool B. Seriously, you da' man!

Cowgirl Maddie

I'm gonna be playing catch up for a while. I think I missed about 6 months or so:/ and while I won't try to post everything, I did want to document the kid's birthday parties (mostly just so they know I actually had them..lol).  Maddie turned 7 this year on the 4th of July, and wanted a cowgirl party. Brent got her a cowboy hat when he traveled to Texas recently, and it's been "cowgirl Maddie" ever since. Her aunt got her riding lessons, which she has REALLY loved, and her grandma got her a one-on-one trip to Hershey park. It was a really fun birthday with lots of love from family. Just as it should be. We love ya Maddie-moo.
